The reason for the necessary change to the park is due to the complete breakdown of Babe Ruth registration. Not enough enrollment to establish a league. 2 1/2 years went by with no activity at the park, therefore creating an enormous amount of deterioration. In 1986 when the park opened there were 8 teams,4 -teams of 13-year-old, Micky Mantle League, American Legion teams, and a Semi-Pro Team sponsored by Pepsi Cola Co.

Due to this unfortunate dilemma, the park will now be constructed into two pristine girls softball fields which will be adopted to serve girls 8-18 with high school and college tournament play.Tournaments throughout the summer will be scheduled.at the new park.newly erected monument and the edition of a jet aircraft will enhance the Memorial Park entrance
